My Mom and her siblings just love each other. They always call each other the sweetest pet names and they love each other unconditionally. They got together last weekend, and Mom was so excited that it got us excited. She's been planning this reunion for a month, and has worked hard at letting all the cousins know about it. We even had Linda & her good looking husband, Ian, from California show up. Yea!! for the Sorenson's. They may have won the "Who has the most family here" prize. This picture is of Mom and her little sister, Naomi. We think Aunt Noni is the best ever and love her stories, her hugs, and her giggle! We miss our Aunt's that aren't here anymore, because they were a big part of our lives, too. Sorry I didn't get any pictures of the brothers or even the cousins, but we sure love these guys and for the way they've taught us to love each other.Friday, September 5, 2008

Let me be the first to comment on this wonderfully true blog post amd say "amen to that." They really are an example of love and kindness that we all have had the great priviledge to learn from over many years. My aunt Fern and my aunt Noni are just some of my favorite people and I love spending time with them. Aunt Noni calls me once in awhile to see how I'm doing since mom died. What dolls she and your mom are ... I want to be like them when I grow up!
I love that picture of Mom and Aunt Naomi. Your post made me think of all the fun times with all those sisters around a quilt. That was the best thing we ever did. We probably will never forget some of the stories we heard from them and the funny things they said.
That was a nice reunion for everyone. Except for Carter who thought he could see gray clouds, so that meant rain. Rook however, he loved the balloon characters made my Eric Barzee and his cute daughter. He wants them to come to his birthday party now!
I just love my family. We were so lucky to have been raised to know our extended family. That doesn't get to happen as much these days. I've always been in awe of my Grandma and the sweet relationships she has with her brothers and sisters. Inspiring, for sure.
It was fun and the kids really did love the balloon swords!! (Thanks Eric & Abby!)
Ok now that my keyboard isn't sticking I can comment...
It was a fun party, even though I showed up a WAY late.
I am glad that Gma loves her family so much cuz it makes us love our family so much! I am one lucky son of a for getting to live with her for a whole year and seeing just how "genuine and amazing" she is!
