I want to talk about Ellen today.
She is the first of our family of six girls. She has been the best role model for all of us.
When I think of Ellen, I think of hard work, spirituality, independent, dependable, unselfish and most of all, a straight arrow. She learned quickly from our Mom and was truly devoted to our Dad. There's got to be a special place in eternity for Mom's that can raise children to be such good people, all by herself. She has a beautiful family and every one of them adore Ellen. When I saw this picture on face book, it brought a lump in my throat and I couldn't help but feel so grateful for such a wonderful person to be my sister. I also thought how could that tiny little thing be the head of that huge family! What a tribute. Milton has got to be so proud of you and of them.
So, Ellen, off to Salt Lake family history center today. We don't need to tell you to work hard, because that is a given. Have fun, though. You deserve a fun time!
We love you and are so proud of you! Thank you for being such a great example for the rest of us.

I love Aunt Ellen too! I loved spending time at her house in the summer when I was little. I was thinking about her yersterday. I was thinking about our Christmas stockings that she made us when we were little and the pinecone baskets that she made. Another thing I was thinking about was her bringing me donuts while I was college. I always thought that was the most thoughtful thing.
This family pic is awesome and Aunt Ellen looks perfectly happy & very beautiful.
Have a great mission Aunt Ellen!!! You have so many of us that adore you.
I know, it's pretty awesome to see all of those great people surrounding the strong woman who raised her three kids in righteousness. It made me think of Pres. Hinckley's "Keep the Chain Unbroken" BYU devotional.
I am sure Aunt Ellen will have a fantastic mission. She'll keep that place in tip-top shape!!
What a nice post! Let me also add my love and admiration for such a strong and great example! Hey, I want to go to the Family History Center sometime...maybe I'll see you there!
You make me cry. I love all of you.
I think Aunt Ellen looks fantastic in that picture and I'm sending any decent single men I meet her way!...well, the ones that are too old for me anyway! So she better be on guard...
Good luck to Aunt Ellen...she'll do a great job! I hope she gets all of our family history done while she's there so I can feel good about the fact that I don't do any!
What a nice tribute and every word of it is true. We couldn't have a better big sister. She is amazing.
