So, I am a dumpster dumper not a dumpster diver. We at Mini Bazaar simply generate too much garbage for one little dumpster. Therefore, I am on the lookout for semi empty dumpsters. Just wanted you all to know that. There is one exception to that, though. At one time we rented a storage unit where Frito Lay also rented. As expiration dates would get close, the drivers would put the bags they picked up from the grocery stores in the dumpster at the storage unit. The picture posted is an average picking from one evening. Many times there wasn't room in our car for all the chips. We didn't buy any chips during that time, and we shared with everyone! Even unspuspecting souls. I have to admit that Mille didn't get into it quite as bad as I did, but it was fun while it lasted. Anyway, who wouldn't have taken them home, rather than see them go to the dump? Come on, really!

I miss those Frito Lay dumpster diving days and always wished that my mom had as much enthusiasm for it as you did. Even if she did make a big haul she'd give it mostly away before we had a chance to eat it...something about it being bad for us or something.
I too, like Geri, have a lot of memories associated with dumpsters and Mini Bazaar. I don't know why though, but I have always been, and still am afraid of dumpsters. So there you have it.
What a Wonderful sight on your countertop! Those were such good times....it was so hard to have to buy chips at the store after that.
We didn't live close enough to enjoy all the dumpster treats BUT I remember hearing about it and getting sooo pumped! Did they catch on to your snatching or why did they leave us high and dry??
Oh the good old days... That was a fun and fattening time!! But I loved every last free chip I ate!!
They tore down our rental place and built the Broadway Walmart there. We all had to move and Frito Lay built their own storage place with their dumpster inside their locked gate! Sad, huh?
