As you know, Jay runs a hardware store. From the moment that W-D 40 showed up at the hardware show, they had a fan. He really likes the stuff. Well, yesterday Sylvia sent me a list that I had to share. There is a little testiomonial on the product, and then a great explanation of what the heck it is. Then a great list of things that W-D 40 will do for you. Here you go......just in case you wanted to know!
I had a neighbor who had bought a new pickup. I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all around the sides ofthis beige truck (for some unknown reason). I went over, woke him up, andtold him the bad news. He was very upset and was trying to figure out whatto do, probably nothing until Monday morning since nothing was open.Another neighbor came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off.It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm the paint thatwas on the truck. I'm impressed! WD-40 who knew?
Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its namecomes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The ConvairCompany bought it in bulk to protect their Atlas missile parts.
Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 thatwould hurt you. When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's thefirst thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours isplastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle! Then try it onyour stovetop... Voila! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll beamazed.

are you sure you should be spraying WD-40 on your skin?? just a question. but I really like the idea of using it to get black scuff marks off my floor (our kitchen floor has some misc. black scuff-type marks. I'll give it a whirl) and to clean stovetops. (do you think that means the black coily things that turn red and you cook on? those are dirty & I was wondering what I should use to clean it...... any input on that one?)
Fish oil being the main ingredient probably explains the icky smell of W-D40, but it truly is amazing stuff. I always told you Jay was smart. That list makes me want to go try it out on a few things that I didn't know it could do. I'll have to see if they sell it here.
Holy Crap! Where did you get all that information?!?!
