I just thought about Easter the other day. I remember it being such a fun time. Our Mom could be found making "look alike" dresses for all of us. Yes, six girls dressed alike on Easter. There is a picture somewhere, and when I find it, I'll post it. Anyway, I love little girls with Easter dresses and hats, and I remember even wearing white gloves to church on Easter Sunday. We'd put them in a little purse when we got tired of them.
I don't remember getting toys for Easter, but we did get a basket with some candy in it, and heaven for bid when Easter fell on fast Sunday. (NOT fun).
I mostly loved Easter for the special occasion that it was and not just for us, either. We even have pictures with our cousins in their Easter outfits, too.
I've got to look for those pictures....

Those are some fun memories. My kids want to color eggs today. I think we'd better make time to do it.
One of our traditions:
Several years ago we 'called' the Easter Bunny to see if he could start coming to our house on Saturday so that on Easter Sunday we could really think about Easter.
"Easter Bunny Saturday" has turned out to be a really fun tradition for us.
On Sunday we enjoy going over the reason for the season.

I too love Easter. I REALLY love it when the weather is just right and we are all outside in our pastel atire and visiting with family, cousins, and neighbors.
Cass, that is a great tradition. We are trying to explain it better to Cole this year and it always ends up talking about the Easter Bunny. We may need to figure something else out.
Your memories are the same as mine....look-alike home-made dresses, coloring eggs, finding eggs, baskets for the girls, buckets for the boys. We probably ate Easter dinner with you guys more than once. Great memories!
I loved getting a new "Easter dress" too. Most of the Easter memories are really great, but I must say Easter candy is way better now. I think you would have to agree... the jelly beans are better, Cadbury eggs, Snickers eggs, pastel M and M's. I wouldn't want to go back to those hard sugar eggs, or whatever they were. I think I will boil up some eggs and make some deviled eggs. That's one Easter tradition I can keep up.
i so remember that mamma rabbit and mamma goose! those were a fave during Easter season!!!!
