We've almost finished moving in to our place in town. What a project. Our kids have helped us so much, both at the old place and at the new. They've moved heavy stuff, packed boxes, moved all of those cans of wheat and whatever from the top of our garage, painted the floor in our new garage, hung floresent lights in the new garage (9 eight footers), hung new outside lights on the outside of the house, and helped set up our dish network system. It would have been way too sad to have Jay miss the World Series after he missed the playoffs last week. Anyway, we still have the outside stuff to bring over from the old place, but it feels good to have this much done. I have lots of boxes in the garage, still, but I'm plugging away at them. Becky was right when she told me that I'd send a bunch to DI when I packed and then another bunch as I unpack. Trying to dejunk. Honestly trying, but I'm not all the way there yet.
They will pour the cement this week for the shop Jay has planned. Then we can get the rest of the stuff. As soon as the farmer that is putting up the hay on the property gets 3rd crop baled, he will get his corals put up and bring the horses over. This project should last all winter, heh?We finished the counter tops in the kitchen and plan on putting a darker glaze on the cupboards. We'll see how that goes. Jay changed out these drawer handles for darker ones, and they look nice. We are working on the office, too. Soon we'll have more of our junk put away as we get places to put it. I was afraid that I was getting too used to living in a mess, but when we got 1/2 of the boxes emptied in our bedroom, I think there is hope. It's kind of cleaned up and we can move around in the dark without stumbling now.
I'll update more later.
