The first day at home, we had the Hens & Chicks party. Then Sunday we had a family dinner after church. I'm not real sure just how the rest of the week went, but I know it went fast. (days seem real short for having 24 hours in them) I didn't take near enough pictures and will post some of Geri's when she sends them to me. (finals this week) We did get to Green Canyon, Hamer and Idaho Falls.. to the bazaar a few times. Josie really enjoyed working at Mini.
Todd's best friend when they come is Tyrel....a cousin in Mud Lake on his Dad's side. He spends most of his time out there. Josie enjoys all the little kids. This year Jayce really had eyes for Josie. I wish I had a picture of him when he's looking at her. Too funny. All the little boys love to play together, and Zoey, too. For lack of a girl cousin close to her age, she just has to do what the boys are doing...and doesn't seem to mind. Little Mia can defend herself really well with the boys, too. The cousins had so much fun together.
The morning that Cassie planned to leave was a rough one. It was snowing and blowing here, but she was on a schedule and pulled out of here at 5am. (with Todd still throwing up from the night before) Cassie had been up since 3:30 scrubbing floors and doing laundry from Todd's illness. Anyway, they crept out of here....only to return 7 hours later because of road closures. They had naps and regrouped the rest of Saturday. I have to tell you..... Todd just suffers in silence. I never saw that kid the whole time he was sick. He just plants himself in the bed, face down and stays there sleeping etc. until he feels better. His mom did take down ice water and a saltine cracker late that night.
The extra day did give us a chance to run in to "5 Guys". Jay really wanted them to experience his very favorite hamburger. Mitch says those are the best fries he's ever had!
All of the Idaho cousins were soooo excited to see the Coleman's and appreciate all of the effort it takes them to get here. It just makes me so happy to see how much they love getting together. What a good group!

We did have a great week with the Colemans' here! It's hard to have to get back to the real world now. :(
I enjoyed having them as well. Cassie and the boys spent a couple lf hours with me and I loved it! Maybe a bit boreing for the boys but they found ways to have a bit of fun.
Grandma Fern
Sounds like great fun. I'm still not sure why they came back. Was it sickness or bad weather? You'd think by April you'd be through that nasty stuff.
This was a fun post, mom.
What an awesome week (Layne reminded me it was nearly 2 weeks by time time you add in all the driving....someone must have gotten lonely here at home).
We love our Idaho families so much. It is always a treat to get to go out West.
And it was weather, Aunt Millie. I-80 was closed and poor Todd was SO sick. So we just went home. I was glad too. The next day when we got back on the road there were 3 semi's turned over on I-80. What the??? It is April for heaven's sake!
Anyway, like Bobbi said, back to real life now.
(guess I could just do a post of my own and not on your comment page.)
Sounds like you had a great time with your far-away kids. I know what you mean when you say time goes by too fast. Cute little family, they are, and so brave to drive all that way without dad!
Thanks for coming Cass and crew! It was so much fun having you here! (sorry i gave Todd the flu)
Also, I sure hope you guys find a place to live for the next little while!
(oops, this isn't your blog! Mom, read this to Cassie could ya?)
It was a really fun week!! Jayce is still looking for Josie... He's been calling her on HIS cell phone and telling us that "My Josie is MY friend!" He thinks she's the coolest... I think they all are pretty cool and had a lot of fun reconnecting with them all!!
(...I'm secretly hoping they loved the drive and want to come back THIS summer!!...)
