A 1st for good ole Jay

When I called Jay on my way home from work today he said that he did something scary for him today.  I wondered "what the heck"....did he lift something really heavy, was he feeling more pain, what was going on?
Then he finished by saying, "you know those lights we bought for the back of the house last night at Fred Meyer?"  I said, yes, I remembered.  Then Jay told me that they were the wrong size of bulbs to match the others, so he took them back and got the right ones.  Wait a second here....HE took them back!  That is his first time to ever return anything.  He hates the thoughts of returning something that he bought.  He thinks it's embarrassing or humiliating or something.  He thinks that returning an item will make the people at the store feel bad.  If he ever buys something that's not right, he either uses it anyway, gives it away, or I take it back, even though he never asks me to do it.
So, another new thing for good ole Jay.  In fact he had a whole afternoon of new experiences.  He shopped at a few antique stores in IF, and just had a nice leisurely day.  I hope he didn't feel bad when he called me from one of them to see if I'd like a leather purse in the shape of a saddle.  I told him, thanks, but probably not.
You gotta love him.

Haaaaaaaaaa I laughed out loud about the saddle shaped bag. That kinda sounds like something my dad might do.

I'm glad Jay had a fun solo day on the town. And congratulations on making his first return.

I made my first food return yesterday...that took a lot of courage for me. I don't like doing things like that either.

And who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Not that Jay is an old dog or anything.
Good call on the purse, but I hope you let him down easy.

I want to know if he was serious or kidding about the saddle shaped purse!!
He probably hates to return because he knows how it feels when people do it at his store. :)
sounds like he had a nice day though~
